dgold Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 Perhaps I missed it in this forum (and I apologize if so) but any ideas on how to stay in Boston's Westin Copley on the cheap from 6/28 - 6/30? This hotel doesn't appear to be in either Priceline or Hotwire (I saw that the last time someone "won" a bid for this hotel according to the cool maps section was over three years ago.Any help would be appreciated.
thenewbie Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 Welcome! I don't think you fully understand how Priceline works. Read the following threads and let us know if you would still like to try Priceline. How Priceline works Don't bid higher for a specific hotel
dgold Posted June 27, 2006 Author Report Posted June 27, 2006 Hi! I do understand how they work but the issue for me is that I want to stay in that hotel and it does not appear to be one that either Hotwire or Priceline deals with. Hence my question. Are there any other options to get a room in this hotel for less than $474 per night?
thereuare Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 Assuming this property still does participate with the opaque suppliers, there would be no way to bid on specifically on this property. The hotels give excess inventory (something there appears to be very little of at this specific property for these dates given the high prices)... so if users could bid on a specific property there would be little reason for anyone to book direct with the hotel. There are a few consolidators that can sometimes have rooms for less than the hotel offers (EasyClickTravel, Quickbook, etc) but of those i checked none have this property available for these dates. As a side note, not sure why you need this specific property or if one nearby will do, but rates are not that high across the board that you may want to consider nearby alternatives (especially given Boston's good mass transit system... although it does shut down early :) ) which may be worthwhile given the likely cost savings. You can use our PRICELINE MAPS for this area to get an idea of which other hotels may be close by. If this is an option feel free to post back for further ideas. If you can only accept this properyt then please use our link to Westin to begin your purchase. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
