Traveldog Posted June 23, 2006 Report Posted June 23, 2006 I am looking for a Miami Hotel in the downrown area for 11/18. I made an $85 and $95 bid and was rejected. Can you advise a strategy? I would like to spend less than $110.
thereuare Posted June 23, 2006 Report Posted June 23, 2006 It's still very early and this area has been getting increasingly tougher to bid in the last year (as has Ft. Lauderdale)You can keep trying to bid, but i would book a cancelable back up in the meantime. I found the following:Courtyard Miami for $88/niteInter-Continental West for $118/niteInter-Continental for $119/niteAll of the above are cancellable up until 72 hours before your check-in date. The first and third represent excellent value as each goes for $250+ for your date above. EasyClickTravel only receives a limited number of rooms, so if you like any of the above i would lock them in now while you can continue to try the opaque suppliers (or just stick with the above if you're happy with it). Traveldog Posted June 26, 2006 Author Report Posted June 26, 2006 Thank you so much for your help. I took your advice and booked one downtown. We are pleased with the hotel and the price, Thanks again!
thereuare Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 Glad to have helped... i'm assuming you booked the Inter-Continental Downtown (not the "West" location)? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
jaxtobias Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 Please pardon my ignorance, but I'm not familiar with EasyClickTravel - if I book a 'blind' hotel - are these fully refundable? I'm trying to get the Intercontinental downtown Miami for Jan 5 and think I may have found it there ($183, with Laundry in amenities) and want to grab it while I try Hotwire/Priceline for less in the meantime. Thanks!
thereuare Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 Yes, EasyClickTravel reservations are fully refundable up until 3 days before check-in date (few exceptions, but in these instances the cancellation policy would be at the bottom of the page with the hotel description). However, note (as per the link in our PRICELINE FAQ) what it means when the hotel status is listed as "on request" (vs. availalble). For "off the record" deals (their opaque service) you can also use our EasyClickTravel Reverse Look-up Tool.
