Had been looking for the Hilton Times Square (MTW) for several days. I needed two rooms. Tried a booking strategy of starting with MTW for 4* and then rebidding in UES and UWS which do not have 4* properties. Nothing worked. Waited a few days and tried again starting at higher base amounts. My last try had me go as high as $145 for MTW with no luck.

A few days later, I tried again starting at MTW 4* at $135. Nothing

Wanting to close this off and get a hotel, I added MTE and increased my bid 1$ thinking that I might get the Hyatt. My bid was accepted at $136. I probably could have got the Hyatt slightly cheaper maybe - 10 bucks or so cheaper but.....who cares. I did well. Hotel is now showing best rate as over $300, so how can I complain!

BID 4* MTW - $135 Offer refused

BID 4* MTW & MTE - $136 - Offer Accepted

Number of Rooms: 2

Number of Nights: 1

Subtotal: $272.00

Taxes & Service Fees: $54.62

Total Charges: $326.62
