edub Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 I'm planning a trip to Vegas for June 30th - July 5th. I'd like a 4* strip hotel but am on a bit of a budget for this trip. I'm familiar with the techniques to bid well with Priceline, but I'm wondering if anyone has seen any good coupons lately (last time I posted someone sent me a great coupon for the Aladdin that worked out great), or help me with a strategy that I could use that would involve splitting the trip. I'd like to go to Laughlin for one night since I have family there, and am willing to split my bidding into two separate bookings for Vegas if it could help my chances of getting the trip cheaper. It doesn't matter to me if I end up at two different hotels before and after the Laughlin trip, and it doesn't really matter what day I go to Laughlin so if there is some way for me to try to figure out what day is the most expensive in Vegas then I'll try to avoid that day. Any advice?Thanks!

edub Posted June 13, 2006 Author Report Posted June 13, 2006 The last time I went I used a coupon that Travelling posted for $59 at the Aladdin, which is around what I'd like to pay this time. I'm thinking maybe Friday night just staying anywhere in town (within reason) since I'll just be flying in that day, then Saturday night stay in Laughlin, and then Sun/Mon/Tue nights stay on the Strip. I'm basing that on the fact that I think Fri/Sat will be the most expensive nights to be on the strip. I don't mind paying a little more than $60, maybe $80 a night or so for the Sun/Mon/Tue if it gets me at a decent hotel on the strip. Do you think that is doable, or should I reconsider my budget? As I remember it, Laughlin is pretty cheap (and not really nice), so if I save a lot of money Fri/Sat then I can increase my max bid for Sun/Mon/Tue.
