snl Posted June 10, 2006 Report Posted June 10, 2006 SORRY...TITLE IS WRONG --- SHOULD BE 3* NOT 4*!!!Description is: This midscale establishment offers more than just the basics in style, comfort and customer service.Amenities: Restaurant, pool, fitness, internet.Any idea what hotel I might be getting? I have never used hotwire or priceline before. Thanks!
thenewbie Posted June 10, 2006 Report Posted June 10, 2006 Welcome,Have you looked through our Hotwire hotel list? It looks like a match for the Holiday Inn Select. You can probably win this (or another hotel) for less on Priceline. If you'd like to try, let us know and we'll advise you accordingly.
snl Posted June 10, 2006 Author Report Posted June 10, 2006 How do I do it on priceline (and do I have enough time, being I need it for tomorrow night)? Thanks for your help!
thenewbie Posted June 10, 2006 Report Posted June 10, 2006 Boston has 3 areas that do not have 3* hotels. Go to Priceline, enter the city and dates, and then click on each area (one at a time) to see what star levels are offered. Three of them do not offer 3* and 4* hotels. These areas are your rebid areas. Find these three and list them here so I know you found the correct ones. If you need more help, try this thread. If you have questions, feel free to ask.Once you've identified these areas, I'll provide you with bidding advice.

snl Posted June 10, 2006 Author Report Posted June 10, 2006 I found Brighton Brookline, Medford/Somerville, and South boston w/o 3/4 stars.
thenewbie Posted June 10, 2006 Report Posted June 10, 2006 I'm assuming the zone you want is Downtown, so give the following a try:Select 3* Downtown BostonBid $45, if rejected add rebid area 1...Bid $50, if rejected add rebid area 2...Bid $55, if rejected add rebid area 3...Bid $60Let us know if this works.
snl Posted June 10, 2006 Author Report Posted June 10, 2006 when you say rebid areas, do you mean add in those ones that don't have 3/4 star hotels?
