Lovedr Posted June 10, 2006 Report Posted June 10, 2006 Ok I started off with $70 for 6/17-6/18, with 2.5*,didnt get it, I then also added 2* and had price at $75 didnt get anything, then I had $80 and added 1* (JC doesnt have 1), and got the Doubletree for $80+tax. On their website they had it at $189, and hotwire didnt have it listed. I was offered extend a night, but didnt need toSo I'm all set :)Friday 1st night, staying at Courtyard Marriott ($14 parking)Sat 2nd night staying at Doubletree ($10 parking)They are right next to each other so thats great :) Rental car is $13/day so thats not bad, another reason why I wanted to fly into Newark and not La Guardia. Thanks guys, I used the savingsbarn link
thereuare Posted June 10, 2006 Report Posted June 10, 2006 ...then I had $80 and added 1* (JC doesnt have 1)...CAREFUL!! For future bidding, if priceline offers a star rating in a given area, then it should be assumed that they DO have hotels at that star level (even if there are none in our hotel list). If you can select it, then there is at least one hotel at that star level that they have a contract with. I think you got lucky that you were upgraded, otherwise you could have ended up at a 1* hotel, which likely would have been on Tonnelle Avenue which is away from a PATH station and not an area you would want to be (a very industrialized highway)Glad to hear it worked out well, but didn't want to see you do something similar on a future bid in another area. Thanks for using the SB links to be begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay(s). Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Lovedr Posted June 11, 2006 Author Report Posted June 11, 2006 thanks wow that would have been bad!! Glad I got Doubletree phewwww
