solosf Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 The only known 4* in the Shinjuku-Ikebukuro zone is the Metropolitan Crowne Plaze. I bid (via savingsbarn.com) $98 but was turned down. Was presented a counter-offer of $22 more. Not sure that's worth it, though, since the cheapest room on the hotels own website is ¥12,800 (approx USD$114) or ¥16000 (USD$143) for what you'd probably get with a priceline bid (something that can sleep 2 people).Going to consider other options, but may bid as high as $110 before giving up on priceline. Will post here if/when that happens.
solosf Posted June 8, 2006 Author Report Posted June 8, 2006 $100 bid rejected. Added Minato-ku/Shinagawa-ku zone and bid $105: accepted4* Crown Plaza Metropolitanzone: Shinjuku - Ikebukuro
thereuare Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Rates were not out of the ordinary so i'm somewhat surprised that such a high bid was necessary... and currency doesn't seem to be much of a factor. At least it's now done and taken care of.Thanks for sharing your win and enjoy your stay.
