thereuare Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 You're not far off... let us know your maximum bid and we'll suggest a strategy to follow.I'll also add that for ~$10 more or so per nite (over a 3*) you should be able to get a 4*... not sure if that's appealing to you or not.Let us know the above and we'll advise accordingly. premieresba Posted June 3, 2006 Author Report Posted June 3, 2006 Thanks, I would like to stay around the 65 dollar range max, if possible. 4* sounds good but I am willing to take the risk to see if we get the Marriott Bloor, it was a great hotel and in the center of everything we like. The 4* seem to be further away from what we are looking for. However, I know this is all a risk. Thanks
thereuare Posted June 3, 2006 Report Posted June 3, 2006 I'd try as follows:Select 3* Downtown...Bid $58, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $60, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 3* Downtown and re-bid zone2...Bid $63, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $65.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes. premieresba Posted June 3, 2006 Author Report Posted June 3, 2006 Using the strategy below, all bids were rejected. Is it better to wait a bit as we have time? Or go higher in our offering price although I prefer not to go too much higher. Or even try for a 4* at this point. Your help has is greatly appreciated.Select 3* Downtown...Bid $58, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $60, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 3* Downtown and re-bid zone2...Bid $63, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $65.
thereuare Posted June 3, 2006 Report Posted June 3, 2006 It's up to you if you'd like to wait it out or raise you bid a little more... but if you do choose to wait i'd use BetterChecker to book a refundable back-up while you wait.Hotwire has a 4* at $85 and a 3.5* at $75 so those would certainly be my limits if you decide to increase your bid. However, these are not good as 'back-ups' since if rates do rise, these will likely disappear.
