djensen Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 Just got the Homestead Studio Suites - Altamonte at the indicated rate ($40) + $12.23 tax . I was going to bid $25 based on a person that got it for $24. When I bid, the priceline system warned me that there was only a very small chance that the bid would be accepted, so I raised the bid, since I needed to be in that area of town on that date. I also knew that there was a local event that was attracting may people and I was concerned that availability might be tight, pushing up prices. Can someone tell me if that warning that your price is too low usually means that you will not win at that price? On Google Maps I can click on a given hotel and see recent wins. is there a way to add my information here to that site or does someone else move that information over? Also, where are people getting all the hotel information that they seem to be pasting into their postings so that they don't have to key it in manually?I ordered my room through SavingsBarn.com.djensen
thereuare Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 Welcome to BetterBidding!Thank you for sharing your win with the board and for starting your bidding with the PRICELINE links at SavingsBarn.comYou should always ignore all variations of priceline's "low warning" message... or just post here first and we'll steer you towards an appropriate starting point/bidding strategy. Now that your topic title is in the same format as the rest of the wins on the board, it is automatically added to the 'recent wins' of the hotel maps (you should be able to see it now)... any problems let us know.I believe the information you're refering to pasting is taken from the Priceline winning bid screen (from the link emailed to you to 'check your request')... there is a link to a 'printable version' which seems to make formatting it a bit easier.Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
