rgg123 Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 I am taking the family to Marietta June 10-17. I would love to get the Sheraton Suites or Hyatt suites since we need the extra room. What bidding strategy should I use. I see someone got the Sheraton Suites recently with a 42.00 bid and others have gotten the Hyatt at 33.00.Thanks for you help,RGG
thereuare Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 You can't bid on a specific hotel. Given that there are at least two other 3* properties in this zone that are not 'all-suite' hotels you can either:1) take a chance and hope you get one of the hotels you want above (and if not realize that Priceline only guarantees double ocupancy so there is a slight risk there as well)2) searching for your dates on Hotwire shows a 3.5* property in the Marietta zone which matches the previous description for the Hyatt Suites (compare to our Hotwire Hotel List). Still no guarantees, but a better chance of targetting the property you're hoping for. Hotwire will also allow you to select up to quad occupancy, so even if this is not the Hyatt, you'll be ensured of having enough sleeping accomodations for four (not sure how many are in your family). This rate is in the mid-$80's, so you could try two rooms on Priceline to beat this Hotwire rate (assuming you don't need the kitchenette aspect of a suite property and simply need the space/beds for everyone), but that may be hard to do for a 1 week stay.3) book direct at the Hyatt or SheratonLet us know your thoughts/question on the above and we'll advise accordingly. If you move forward let us kno whow it goes. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
