Priceline Hotel: NYC Backup Hotel 6/15/2006

I have already tried priceline up to $150 for one night on 6/15 for a 3*.....everything in the city but downtown. My plan is to try again this weekend and even go to 2 1/2* if necessary. I'm a a little leary of a 2 1/2* hotel in NY, are the 2 1/2s on priceline decent hotels? Also, can someone recommend a backup hotel that I can book today? I would prefer midtown but I am not set on a location as long as it is convenient to the subway, $150 or less and relatively nice.

If you're looking for 'nice' i'd tend to stay away from 2.5* in NYC... some may be nice but you also may begin to get into the fringe of something that you may not want. On the otherhand it's only one nite and i can put up with almost anything for one nite.

For a back up hotel i would try EasyClickTravel as well as using the new BetterChecker site since hotel-direct is where you will find most fully refundable rates (but make sure they rate you're booking is refundable as they usually have both)

Bump this thread a half a day before you're ready to bid again so that we're looking at the most up to date rates for your stay.
