How far in advance is the "BEST" time to bid priceline?

Just how far in advance is TOO FAR to bid on priceline? I usually bid about one to two months in advance of my trips. However, if I get only an advance warning of going, obviously, I bid anyway (once was even the same day, albiet, the morning for that night).

Just wondering if the collective brain trust has any insight. Particularly, I am wondering if Priceline skews the prices based on how far in advance (or how short, as the case may be) you bid.

Also, (while I have the soapbox) does anyone know if Priceline chagnes what they offer you based on how often you bid or how what you have previously offered for hotels?

Not paranoid, but...ok, a little paranoid! LOL
