I was very suprised by this, as this is the night of the Indy 500, and availablity in IND that night is scarce. The published rate on radisson.com is $129+

First bid was on a 1* in the Airport IND area for $45, and accepted/upgraded to this... :)

Well, at least someone else knows how I feel :) But you're right... that's totally surprising that that price is available the night of the race. Lower than expected turnout?

I think it has to do with ticket/hotel packages not selling, as a bunch of hotels in the airport/speedway area have opened up some inventory over the past few days - even though they've been "sold out" for many, many months. I know that as of 2 months ago, you could not book any rooms at this Radisson for that night.

So your theory of lower turnout may apply here. I had no problem booking 2 Q fares on AA ($120 RT) MIA-IND two months ago for this trip (5/27-5/29), which was another suprise to this trip.
