gillybrit Posted May 25, 2006 Report Posted May 25, 2006 I have tried unsuccessfully to bid on a 2.5+ star hotel in Mid Town West. I have bid up to $166. I also expanded to include Central Park South. Am I underbidding? Also, am I more likely to be successful as far ahead as possible or at the last minute? I am looking for a room for June 10th.
gillybrit Posted May 25, 2006 Author Report Posted May 25, 2006 How much should I bid for a hotel in NYC for 6/10. Hoping for min. 2.5 star - prefer 3 star. Midtown West or Central Park south areas. Have tried, and failed @ $166. Not sure if I should increase slightly or if I'm not in the ballpark and am wasting my time at this price level.HELP!
jgassman Posted May 30, 2006 Report Posted May 30, 2006 Plan a back up hotel in case you don't get what you are looking for. Kayak.com shows 2* Comfort Inn, 442 W 36th St (Midtown West, Times Square), at $200(I think this is a bit south of where you'd like to be, despite the kayak.com label)3* the Crowne Plaza United Nations 304 E 42nd St, New York, NY at $199 (a bit east of where you'd like to be) 3* the Ramada The New Yorker 481 8th Ave at $199 (at 34th, a bit south of where you'd like to be) 2* the Howard Johnson at Penn Station at 215 W 34th St at $167Jennifer
