Priceline Hotel: trouble finding a Montreal 3* for under $75 and a 4* for under &#

im trying to book aa room in Montreal from June 3, 2006 - June 5, 2006

tried adding zones for 4* and bidding up to $100

tried every day this week to get a 3* adding $5 a day bidding up to $80.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciatted

So you have already bid up to your limit. Your choice come down to:

1) wait it out and book a cancellable back-up in the meantime

2) raise your maximum bid

3) lower your star rating

4) include another nearby zone that may still be acceptable for your plans

but how are people booking 4* hotels for $65 and $70??? the prices i entered are already too hight. ive used this strategy and got much better deals

is there any strategy you can suggest??

The prices you're referencing are not for these dates!

If a hotel is at 40% occupancy then they're more inclined to give inventory to the opaque suppliers (Priceline and Hotwire) and deeply discounted prices... if they're at 95% occupancy they're not likely to give deeply discounted inventory (if any inventory at all) since they believe they can probably sell the room themselves for more money.
