thereuare
What is your maximum bid at each star level? (cut-off in your topic title) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
eric2006
i dont want to pay more than $95 for a 4*and no more than $75 for a 3* Link to comment
thereuare
So you have already bid up to your limit. Your choice come down to:1) wait it out and book a cancellable back-up in the meantime2) raise your maximum bid3) lower your star rating4) include another nearby zone that may still be acceptable for your plans Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
eric2006
but how are people booking 4* hotels for $65 and $70??? the prices i entered are already too hight. ive used this strategy and got much better dealsis there any strategy you can suggest?? Link to comment
thereuare
The prices you're referencing are not for these dates! If a hotel is at 40% occupancy then they're more inclined to give inventory to the opaque suppliers (Priceline and Hotwire) and deeply discounted prices... if they're at 95% occupancy they're not likely to give deeply discounted inventory (if any inventory at all) since they believe they can probably sell the room themselves for more money.
