Priceline Hotel: San Antonio Riverwalk 4*

I've read and read until I think I have an idea about all of this. The question I need answered is this:

I know that around the riverwalk there are some hotels that charge up to $25.00 for parking.

Do I need to call all the hotetls listed to ask or is there someway to KNOW when I bid?

This is a wonderful site and I can't wait to acutally bid. :)

I've read the tips on rebidding and each time I understand it more. I don't see winning bids during the summer time in San Antonio much. Is this because the hotels won't offer hotels on the high season? :)

Thanks,

Househuntress

There is no way to limit your bidding to hotels that don't charge for parking or only charge below a specific amount. Fortunately you'll likely save enough to make up for any additional parking fees.

If your ready to bid let us know the actual dates of your stay and we'll suggest a bidding strategy to follow.

Living in the area, I am not sure there are any hotels on the river walk that do not charge for parking. We have stayed down there and always had to pay for parking. Maybe ones a few blocks away from the River Walk may have free or cheaper parking but not anywhere on it. There are many parking decks in that area and the prices do vary. It pays to drive around a little and check various fees

I have stayed at the Amerisuites on the Riverwalk before and the parking was free plus free hot breakfast. While the hotel is not located directly in the middle of the restaurants on the Riverwalk, a portion of the river does run past the hotel. It is an easy 5 - 10 minute walk to the heart of the fun.

From the Amerisuites website regarding this location:

"Located on the serene San Antonio River, just a few minutes walk from the famous Riverwalk entertainment district.

AmeriSuites San Antonio Riverwalk is a leading select service hotel offering great rates, attractively designed accommodations, upscale amenities, and a welcoming atmosphere with all the comforts of home.

Whether traveling for business or pleasure, you`ll enjoy our spacious guestrooms with in-room microwave and refrigerator, separate workspace and free high-speed Wi-Fi Internet access. Plus, free hot breakfast buffet, on-site meeting rooms, 24-hour fitness center, outdoor heated swimming pool, and free parking.

The hotel is located within a downtown metroplex of government and commercial offices and is within easy walking distance of the Riverwalk, the San Antonio Convention Center, The Alamo, restaurants, and shopping."

I'm sure there is a link on the support page that you could use to book if you are interested. Oh, and the rooms were what you would expect (clean) and have a sitting room w/ sofa bed which is nice.

There is no requirement that you park at the garage or lot the hotel owns. There are several cheaper parking lots in the area that you could choose from. It's also worth noting that there is not much need for a vehicle if you are planning on staying in the Riverwalk area. If you park a couple of blocks from the hotel and have to get the car a couple of times, it shouldn't be a big deal. I would say your question is really a non-issue. Bid away...

Thanks for the info about Amerisuites. We have stayed there in Ft. Worth, we liked the hotel. I'm sorry but am new to this, is it called support page? I'm not finding that.

Also the parking lots, is there a link to know where they are? We now have the dates July 12 to July 16th. I know..hotter than hllllll in Texas at that time.

Thanks to all.

You're welcome. I've been down there several times, but there's still much I don't know about San Antonio. I'm also working on finding a hotel down there, so you can follow along with my bidding strategy and failures(thus far)/successes(hopefully) in the seperate thread.

Good luck. And I agree, this is an excellent site.
