TeddyRiley Posted May 8, 2006 Report Posted May 8, 2006 Greetings,Just booked 3 Nights (Aug. 15-18, 2006) in Budapest at the 5* Le Meridien using Priceline. Most of the travel sites, and even directly on the Le Meridien website quoted a price around $138.I tried for several weeks starting low at $80 and increased anywhere from $3 to $7 each time. However, with Budapest, there is only one region, so between me and my girlfriend, we got two bids a day.Unfortunately, bids from $100-$122 were not successful, as Priceline suggested to add $22 to the bid price. Of course that would have been ridiculous because we could have had direct booking for less than that.We just bid $125, figuring this is as cheap as it's going to get, so we saved a few bucks a night. Which is fine by me. All our hotels in Eastern Europe have been booked, so I won't have to worry about it during the summer as I study for the California bar exam. And we used savingsbarn.com.Cheers!
