riley Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 Hi there,Curious to know if anyone has bought the 4* currently available on Hotwire at $180 for May 5-7 dates. Its description suggests the Tribeca or the Millennium hilton, but I'd love to know exactly which one it is.thanks!
thereuare Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 You're not going to know which one it is... you need to be comfortable with it being either one (or some other hotel not yet reported). It is possible that i buy this hotel is and it is the Millenium, and then buy it after me and you receive the Tribeca Grand. We have seen users purchase hotels simultaneously on two different computers and receive different properties. My best guess is that you're seeing the Millenium Hilton. riley Posted May 3, 2006 Author Report Posted May 3, 2006 Success!I have not understood the re-bid zone strategy. I re-read the instructions from this site, then followed your advice as noted in this PRICELINE New York City post. This is what I did:Select *4 MTE ...Bid $110, then re-bid zoneBid $120, then re-bid zoneBid $125, then closed browser and re-accesed (through SavingsBarn of course)Select *4 MTWBid $110, then re-bid zonePriceline then offered me to offer an extra $22. I declined and continued with strategy.Successful *4 at $120 a night. Hotel is Hilton New York.I checked out Trip Advisor and it looks fairly blah. But, hey - great location and GREAT price. I'm thrilled!Really appreciate all the help from this site.
