swooopeno Posted April 24, 2006 Report Posted April 24, 2006 2nd attempt at priceline... (1st attempted was a great success). I tried a few bids and I feel like I'm all over the place. I'll settle with 4* or 3* in BH/west hollywood. Hollywood is tough... only 3*. I belive it is impossible to rebid that zone. Do you agree?I believe I can get Holiday Inn Walk of Fame in Hollywood for $124/night via EasyClickTravel.com. (although when I go to reserve the room, it says it cannot confirm and I need to wait 48 hours for confirmation.. sounds a little fishy to me)The hotels in BH/West Hollywood don't have the best reviews... but I might as well give it a shot. If I want 3* in hollywood... do I just need to bid high? I already bid some odd bids. $70 for 3*/4* in Zone BH or zone hollywood - rejected$95 for 3*/4* in Zone BH or zone hollywood - rejectedWhat next? The weekend is quickly approaching...Thanks!
thereuare Posted April 24, 2006 Report Posted April 24, 2006 First, EasyClickTravel travel is legit, but read on..."On Request" means that they have sold their allotment of rooms at their pre-negotiated contract price (afterall it is less than a week before your arrival). They will try to get more rooms at their contact price, but this is up to the hotel... some hotels routinely give them additional rooms, other properties rarely/never give them additional rooms. Since this is 'on request', you should not use this as your back-up.What is your maximum bid at each star level? thereuare Posted April 25, 2006 Report Posted April 25, 2006 Have you looked at Hotwire at all? There are 3* and 3.5* hotels within your price range, and a 4* hotel just beyond (which you may be able to get on Priceline within your budget)... but not sure if you would want one of the Hotwire offerings in order to have a better guestimate at the hotel's identity (or to help cap your maximum priceline bid at a figure less than $140) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
