Priceline Hotel: Manhatten 5/11 - 5/13

I've been trying to get a room in 4* MTW,MTE or UCPS using the posted bidding strategies with re-bids. I've gone as high as 180 without success even thought I can find the Sheraton New York Hotel And Towers for 259 on Hotels.com.

So I did a little digging to find out that the problem is the 11th (thursday). All the hotels I looked the thursday night stay is at least 100 a night more then friday.

I guess my question is will this even out the closer the dates get so I have a chance at a good deal or not?

It's not recommended to follow strategies presented for dates other than your own. Since rates are based upon the specific dates of your stay, following a strategy for dates other than your own can lead to wasted bids, or worse, an overbid.

What is your maximum bid for this stay? Do you have a back-up reservation anyplace? Given the price difference between your dates, would you consider SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID?

thereuare, thanks for the response. My max is 180 for priceline, I don't have a backup reservation yet since I just started looking for a hotel.

The bidding strategy I was following was from this thread

priceline new york

which was for the same dates and priced about the same.

I'm not willing to split my reservation since it's only for 2 nights I'm not going to go through the possible hassle of moving.

I would figure out your back-up plan as that may cause you to re-think your maximum priceline bid.

If you dont' want to split the dates or raise your bid, your options basically come down to:

-wait it out

-lower your star rating

-add other zones at your current star rating
