I ended up splitting my bid dates to save some money.

I wanted Thursday (May 11) to Sunday (May 14). I had bid up $5 daily starting at $70 and getting to $95 -- all rejected. I was counteroffered for $22 more at $85 and $95, but turned it down.

So, I bid $75 for May 12 to May 14, and got accepted on the first bid at the Marriott. Lowest rate on marriott.com is $169 ($215 CHF).

I'll now start bidding separately for May 11, and post that once I get it.
