Anyone have an idea what's going on in town for/around these days...convention? meetings? tourist season?...perhaps they don't want me coming to town to have a few drinks (ok, many drinks)/entertainment?

Bidding Downtown (adding zones/re-bidding):

I'm up to $100/day for 4 stars with no luck...

I'm up to $85, 3 stars with no luck...

I'm up to $72, 2.5 stars with no luck...

it's the highest levels that I've personally bid for philly, and bidding 2.5 is a first as well!

Did you check rates directly from the hotel websites for these dates before bidding?

Marriott has a special event rate of $449/nite

Hyatt is sold-out

Wyndham is sold-out

Happy ending though, I had a friend bidding in parallel and was able to get some wins splitting dates...

4/26 - 4/28: Sheraton Society Hill @$75

4/29: Marriott (Downtown) @$75

Highest I've paid for Philly in recent memory, but no complaints as its mere peanuts compared to a $449!

(only downer is that since the friend won the bid, it wasn't via savingsbarn...sorry!)
