Does anyone have suggestions for a bidding strategy for a four star hotel in downtown Seattle for Friday, May 26th - just one night? I've seen bids around $100 for 4 stars downtown in good hotels. What's the trick?

Thanks!

There is a four star in downtown Seattle on Hotwire for $134 for May 26th, so I'd like to stay below $130 and even $120. Otherwise it might just make sense to bite on the Hotwire price. About $110 would be ideal.

Thanks for the help.

When bidding the 4* level in Seattle you have six re-bid zones available. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 4* Downtown...

Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $102, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $108, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $110.

(personally, if $100 failed i would keep bidding in $5 increments up to $120, but the above is a sound strategy if you want to limit your maximum bid to $110)

Any questions feel free to ask.

Good Luck and let us know how it goes.

Thank you for your help!

My bid of $95USD was accepted on the second try. This is what I did:

Selected 4* Downtown

Bid $90

Rejected

Selected 4* Downtown, Washington U

Bid $95

Accepted

The hotel is the 4* Sheraton in Downtown Seattle.

Tax and Service fees are $21.79, so the total charges are $116.79.

I was intent on a 4* in downtown Seattle, so my strategy was to only re-bid on zones that did not have 4* hotels in the region. I think that both Bellview and Seattle North/Lynnwood have four star hotels, so I avoided bidding on those zones.

I did use the PRICELINE link at SavingsBarn.com to start my purchase at PriceLine.

Again, thanks kindly for your help!
