donnaw Posted April 17, 2006 Report Posted April 17, 2006 Need help to identify the following hotels. thereuare Posted April 17, 2006 Report Posted April 17, 2006 Are you still seeing all of the above hotels?I just did a search for your dates (default 2 adults in the room) and only see a 3.5* in the Loop zone (different then the one above) for $289/nite, a 4* in the Mag Mile zone at $328/nite, and a 3* in Oak Brook for $66, but does not show a pool icon. donnaw Posted April 17, 2006 Author Report Posted April 17, 2006 :) No, I don't see them now. They were available this morning. The only one I see is the Oak Brook, Il and it's now $80. I'd like to identify that hotel - if possible.I have been trying to get a hotel in the Oak Brook area through Priceline for the last few days too - no luck at a reasonable rate. It is Easter break and there is a Huge convention in town - maybe that's the reason.
thereuare Posted April 17, 2006 Report Posted April 17, 2006 This hotel has not yet been identified, but as a guess, the Holiday Inn seems to have all the amenities above. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
AaronJB Posted April 17, 2006 Report Posted April 17, 2006 I'm having trouble finding anything downtown and there's really a lot sold out in the outlying areas it seems.Throwing out a couple of North suburbs suggestions - admittedly, regular rate, but these are near public transit (Metra Trains) headed downtown:Staybridge Suites Glenview ($144 for a suite, staybridge.com)Residence Inn Deerfield ($146 for a studio room, marriott.com) The Residence Inn Deerfield is also not far from the beautiful Chicago Botanic Gardens. Both have pools.Additionally, there is a 3-star in the Skokie/Niles/Evanston area with a pool on Hotwire for $61. No clue what it is, but that general area would not be a far drive from downtown. I'd think it would be slightly closer than Oak Brook, but that's just me.
donnaw Posted April 17, 2006 Author Report Posted April 17, 2006 Thank you guys for your help. This just didn't seem to work for the dates I had planned. So, I changed the dates to 4/20 to 4/22 and I got the Downer's Grove Doubletree Suites for $52. Quite pleased with this hotel - I have stayed there before. Thank you (I will list this win as a separate post).
donnaw Posted April 17, 2006 Author Report Posted April 17, 2006 Got this for $52 per night. Dates: 4/20 - 4/22/06Amenities: Suite, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, BusinessQuite pleased - this is a really nice hotel. Had to pay full price for a hockey tournament (and I was still pleased). This rate is terrific. Thank's to this site.By the way - based on this site's list of hotwire hotels - I thought it was the Hilton Suites or Embassy Suites (based on the following: Amenities: Suite, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Business).
