chiphoto Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 I'm looking to book a resort hotel in hilton head, sc. When I look for one through priceline using their normal compare and save (where prices' and hotel names are given) there are 4 resorts shown. However, one of the resorts isn't on Hilton Head Island. It is on another island all together. My question is, if I were to place a bid using "name your own price," would that resort be considered in the running for the bid. The area map shown for "name your own price" does not include the area that this 4 resort is located in, so should I assume that only the 3 resorts that priceline listed will be considered for the bid?thanks
thenewbie Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 Priceline operates two different types of services:1) Opaque, where you don't know the name of the hotel and you 'name your own price' 2) 'Shop and Compare' where you browse hotels and are told the price... this is the list that you had seenThe two services operate independently of each other. The shop and compare service is not all inclusive. Some hotels are not shown, but will be available through the name your own price service.
chiphoto Posted April 9, 2006 Author Report Posted April 9, 2006 But just to clarify, the pictured zone are for name your own price is the area in which the hotels have to be, correct? They can't be outside that area?thanks

chiphoto Posted April 9, 2006 Author Report Posted April 9, 2006 I'm looking into placing a bid via pricelines name your own price for a resort hotel on hilton head, sc. When I use their compare and save service it lists 4 resorts, one of which isn't even on the island itself and appears to be outside the name your own price zone area. Has anyone had experience using name your own price for a hilton head resort, and if so, do you know if I may get stuck with this resort that isn't even on the island? Thanks
