Priceline Hotel: 4* San Francisco (USW) Renaissance Stanford Court

Before I even did any research (and joined this board), I bid $95 for one night at a 4-5* zone hotel in San Francisco, for Sunday, April 9, one try, and received the Stanford Court reservation. Seems like I might have been able to get it for slightly less, but oh well. Opinions seem to be tilting toward the possibility that the Stanford is not up to other 4-5* hotels; I'll find out tonight.

I live across the Bay and decided to stay over Sunday night for a show. The hike up the hill to California St. will be invigorating--yes it's steep. Then the next morning I meander to work in the other direction, toward the Wharf. Good hotel location, to be sure, if you like to hoof it. And the cable car's right there. If anything is outstanding (or not), I'll post back.

Update: I enjoyed the stay; I was nice to the staff and they were nice to me. Room was quite small but well-appointed, and a bit vintage. Good toiletries, nice shower, personal wakeup, good coffee. No down duvet but perhaps that's an upgrade. My room had a view to the west, which meant it might be a bit quieter than those closer to the cable-car side.
