TravelTea
Needed a hotel for my visit to Universal Studios. Didn't want to bid Burbank/Universal City/Glendale zone as this zone is too large & probably more expensive. I figured the surrounding suburb cities would be close enough (by car) & probably come up less expensive.Started bidding (4/6) in Los Angeles (San Fernando Valley-Studio City) @ 2.5 stars. I was hoping to get the Courtyard Studio City.1st bid: $50 2.5 stars Studio City zone <rejected>2nd bid: $55 added 3 stars Burbank zone <rejected>3rd bid: $58 added 3 stars Simi Valley zone <rejected>4th bid: $62 added 3 stars Van Nuys zone <rejected>Note: Burbank, Simi Valley, & Van Nuys all did not have 2.5 stars available in their zones.Started bidding in Los Angeles (San Fernando Valley-Woodland Hills) @ 3 stars.1st bid: $50 3 stars Warner Center/Woodland Hills zone <rejected, but PL countered w/ $14 re-bid>2nd bid: $55 added 3 stars Burbank zone ACCEPTED!2 nights @ $55.00 = $110.00Taxes & Fees: $22.47Total: $132.47Very :) to get 3 stars for $55 in Woodland Hills zone; when rejected at $62 for 2.5 stars in Studio City zone.
