grizparker Posted April 4, 2006 Report Posted April 4, 2006 I was really aiming for the Westin Park Central, due to it being near our destination and to satify my wife's love for Westin hotels. First I made a completely unresonable request of $45 for a 4* in Frisco - Plano West. This was for the Westin Stonebriar Resort, which is pretty high priced. Obviously, that was declined. At this point, I added Park Central...the area I really wanted. I upped my bid to $50. Declined. Going forward, I consulted the BetterBidding.com list of hotels in Dallas to find areas that DID NOT contain any 4* hotels. The next 4 searches consisted of me updating my search with one of these hotels and increasing my price by roughly $5. So, I added Las Colinas (no 4*'s) and increased my bid to $55. Declined. Added Knox - Northpark (no 4*'s) and increased my bid to $58. Declined. Added Richardson - Plano (no 4*'s) and increased my bid to $63. Declined. Added East Dallas - Mesquite (no 4*'s) and increased my bid to $67. Accepted. The Westin Park Central12720 Merit Drive Dallas, Texas 75251(972) 385-3000 Fax (972) 991-4557After taxes of $17.47, my total came out to $84.47. The Westin Website shows the room going for $229/night.Hope this benefits others as well....
sfoster93 Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 For the record, this is a very normal price and in the past it was as low as $45/night.
