Bid Waikiki South with 3 free rebids and got rejects at $150, $155, $169, $172.

Here are the current lowest available rates from the hotels website.

Resort* - $265 - Sheraton Moana Surfrider

4* - $229 - Marriott Waikiki Beach

4* - $219 - Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach

With rates at the Marriott only $209/nite (on a current search i just did using the previous link) you may want to consider making a cancellable back-up there while you continue to try Priceline. Based upon the Marriott's rate i would think that a lower bid amount might be accepted in the future (and your current rejections may be due to access to inventory rather than high prices).

Also, would you consider the North area? I think rates could be had for less there... but do note that the Hawaii Prince is in this zone, and although a very nice hotel (i stayed there myself a few months back and would have no problem returning), it is not on the beach and a little removed from the center of the city.

No, we really want the South and not the North so that makes it tougher. I will make a back up res at both once I get the 2006 Entertainment Book I just ordered.

My plan is to just keep trying every day with a cap of $175. If I get it...great...if not...so big deal.
