yooperann
I had tried Priceline at 89 for a 2.5* and at 69 for a 2*. No go either way, so I came back to Hotwire and took the offer of a 2* with no listed amenities at $86. Not excited about the Days Inn, but it's very convenient to campus and will be fine, I'm sure. yooperann
The highest star level listed on Priceline for Bloomington is 2.5. I tried an $89 bid at that level, knowing I could get a 2* on Hotwire for 86 (and a Quality Inn from their website at $99). Failed. I then went down to 2 stars, but took my bid (in light of what I knew about the Hotwire availability) down to $69. Failed again. I see there is a US Ladies Swim Championship in town so that may be why things seemed scarce and pricey for the star level. Anyway, as reported on the Hotwire forum, I did then take the Hotwire offer, which turned out to be a Days Inn with no amenities--which is pretty much my general impression of Days Inns but I'm sure will be fine and is in very convenient location for my purposes.
