EERogers Posted March 31, 2006 Report Posted March 31, 2006 New to membership on this Board. I have been reading for a while, and have appreciated all the helpful information I have gleaned from everyone's efforts.I will be traveling to Chicago on 5-10 thru 5-13, checked Hotwire, and a 4* hotel comes up in the Loop area for $103 that I would appreciate help identifying. Amenities are Restaurant and Fitness Center.Lots of things look close, but didn't see anything that matched. Would appreciate help in identifying. Thanks
thereuare Posted March 31, 2006 Report Posted March 31, 2006 As you say not an exact match for anything on our lists, but i'd suspect that this may be the Hilton Chicago as that property has changed up their amenities in the past. I supose the Hotel Monaco is a possibility as well, but i'd be more inclined to think the Hilton.Let us know whatever you decide to do or if we can be of further help. EERogers Posted April 1, 2006 Author Report Posted April 1, 2006 Thereuare, you were right. I went back to check and bid this morning, and the price had gone up to $106/night, and the pool and business center icons were added. I was pretty sure it was the Hilton, and confirmed.Hilton Chicago and Towers1 room @ $106 per night X 3 nights $318.00Taxes and Fees: 53.20Hotel Total $371.20My conference is at the Hyatt a little ways up the street, and with the conference room rate of $209 per night, was $723.56 with taxes. The Hilton's lowest rate was a Net Direct rate at $197 per night, which was $682.01 with taxes. Hotwire (and this website) saved me $310.81 for the three nights at the Hilton, and $352.36 over the conference rate at the Hyatt. A quick trip up Michigan Ave is worth it for that kinds of savings. Thanks for all the assistance.
