Priceline Hotel: Las Vegas 5* Weekend Challenge

This is a fantastic site, I can't wait to make a Hotwire or PL reservation to add to the database!

My situation is that I'd like to get a 5* property for a weekend stay (and a big fight weekend at that) beginning 5/5 and checking out on 5/7 without being crushed on the rate. My choices would be Wynn, Venetian, Caesars, Bellagio, theHotel@Mandalay, or Mandalay.

Except for Venetian and Caesars, the properties are sold out on Friday or Saturday night, or both. Booking direct with the Venetian is yielding a rate of $549 for each night and Caesars is an average rate of $340 per night.

Since Venetian is the only one of these that seems to be an option on P/L or Hotwire, I'd like to try to put in a reasonable bid in the range of $225 - $275 per night. Would this bid range stand a chance?

EDITED TO ADD: I am pretty sure that EasyClickTravel has the Venetian for $344 considering that one of the rooms is classified as a "Venezia Bella Suite". Also there is a 4.5* hotel with "Fountain View" as the room type (Bellagio?). There is also one other 5* property for $397, but the room type is not descriptive of any particular property. END OF EDIT

Thanks.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

When the Venetian's rates are that high we seldom see big discounts thru the opaque suppliers; so you could try your bid amounts above, but i'd be surprised if you were successful. If you want to try anyway and need a bidding strategy, confirm your maximum bid and we'll suggest a strategy to follow.

For the EasyClickTravel 'Off the Record' properties, use our REVERSE LOOK-UP TOOL to assist in identifying the hotels (if you liked this site before it's about to take on a new level when you see some of our technology at work :) )

It's also important to note the 'status' of the EasyClickTravel offerings... if listed as 'available' it can be booked immediately, if listed as 'on request' then ECT does not have inventory and needs to contact the hotel to see if they can get additional rooms at their pre-contracted price (which will be doubtful on a busy weekend such as this).

If you find something that is a possibilty and 'available' you may want to book it as a back-up since EasyClickTravel reservations in Vegas are cancellable up until 72 hours before check-in date. This will still give you the ability to try to better your deal as your dates get closer and/or if rates drop.

Thanks thereuare!

The Reverse Look Up Tool just took its rightful place ahead of sliced bread.

If EasyClickTravel's listing at $397 is indeed the Wynn (are you aware of any reports of a completed reservation on EasyClickTravel for the Wynn?), then I'd be willing to bid up to a max of $300 on the Venetian or another on-strip 5*. Otherwise, since I've never stayed at the Wynn, it would be a fantastic experience and I'd probably pony up the difference.

Thanks.

When bidding 5* in Vegas you have seven re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 5* Strip...

Bid $225, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $250, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $260, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $270, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $280, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $290, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $295, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $300.

If the above is rejected you can then take the EasyClickTravel offer... which of course if the id is incorrect you can cancel since you're outside of the 72 hour cancellation period :)

Good Luck and let us know how it goes.

Well, I tried the Priceline Bidding Strategy with no luck for that weekend. In the end, Easy Click Travel's Off the Record offer for the Wynn was the best deal in town. $397 per night for the Wynn versus $549 for the Venetian or $559 for Mandalay Bay - not a bad deal in my opinion.
