billdozer Posted March 26, 2006 Report Posted March 26, 2006 Hello,I'm new on here and just wanted to post my most recent success with Priceline. My bid for $50 was accepted on the first try for a 3* in the Willowbrook area. The going room rate on the Marriott site is $130. I have found that if you search the hotels' sites and the other "discount" sites for their best rate and then bid 40% off of that, Priceline usually accepts it.Just my 2 cents.Bill
thereuare Posted March 26, 2006 Report Posted March 26, 2006 Can you please add the dates of your stay to your post and i'll then add them to the topic title.I don't think there is a blanket statement "bid xx% lower than the best price you can find". In some areas this would be a waste of time, in other areas it could result in an overbid.Thanks. billdozer Posted March 26, 2006 Author Report Posted March 26, 2006 Sure thing. The date is May 11th and I booked it about two weeks ago.
