Crystal Posted March 25, 2006 Report Posted March 25, 2006 :) Ok I am going crazy - officially nowMost hotels we would stay at are in the $150+ range through hotel websites, search engines, etcSo I figure that maybe hotwire would be a better plan since we are staying 3 days (6 days total) in both Orlando and Tampa from 4/9/06 - 4/15/06 The deals I have gotten so far on Hotwire don't seem to be too great to accomodate 6 people (was really hoping for a suite w/ a kitchenette and comp breakfast - I know picky right!)I know it's risky to plan for 6 people in a room anyway right???And Tampa...I didn't come up with any listings for 4 people - in the Busch Gardens areaHow long should I wait to book - how often do prices/hotel/info change Specifically - we're looking for the Tampa - Busch Gardens area & Orlando - Universal/Seaworld area - dates are interchangable - either 4/9/06-4/12/06 or 4/12/06 - 4/15/06 for bothThanksCrystal
thereuare Posted March 25, 2006 Report Posted March 25, 2006 I think six people in one room is pushing it, and even if you can 'get away with it', there is a good chance that some will have to sleep on the floor. Since most hotel rooms can not accomodate six people, and it exceeds the maximum occupancy of most hotel rooms, the risk is too great (imo). What is your budget? Could you try to get two rooms for the six of you? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Crystal Posted March 25, 2006 Author Report Posted March 25, 2006 By 6 people - I mean 2 adults - and 4 kids 11, 7, 5 & 2When we go on vacation we usually get rooms w/ 2 beds and a pull-out We all sleep pretty comfortably usuallyWe could do 2 rooms - however with the kids being young I really wouldn't feel safe unless I could assure that the rooms were adjoining Thanks again for your help
thereuare Posted March 26, 2006 Report Posted March 26, 2006 When we go on vacation we usually get rooms w/ 2 beds and a pull-out With the opaque suppliers you don't have the luxury of choosing a room with such a configuration. With priceline you could get a room that only has one bed; additionally, the hotel you receive may not have any rooms that have pull-out couches. We could do 2 rooms - however with the kids being young I really wouldn't feel safe unless I could assure that the rooms were adjoining You can't guarantee connecting rooms either. You can call the hotel after you know the name and put in a request, but it is just a request and may or may not be able to be honored. You'll have to weigh the savings vs. the risk that you won't get the bed configuration that you want.
