sandhu13 Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 I am looking to bid on a 4* hotel for the Formula 1 weekend in Montreal , i.e. 23rd to 25th June 06. As this is going to be a pretty busy weekend in Mtl, Should I bid higher or what ?? Any advice would be helpful. Also I would waana stay in the downtown MTL area because of the subway facilities and all the after-race parties.Should I also go for the 3* hotels in the area ?
thereuare Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 What is your maximum bid amount? That will determine if you are in 4* or 3* range. With lots of hotels already sold-out on these dates, there may not be any opaque inventory at all. sandhu13 Posted March 22, 2006 Author Report Posted March 22, 2006 I am looking to get a hotel in the 60-80$ range. I agree that most of the hotels would be sold out during that time, Is it still worthwhile to bid in that range or should I increase the bid ?
thereuare Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 You can try, but with Hotiwre showing no availabilty in the downtown zone for these dates, and the two hotels i checked directly showing sold-out conditions, i doubt you'll find success anywhere near the prices you're suggesting. If you're not successful with priceline, where will you stay and how much will it cost you? I would use this information to determine your maximum bid... not how much you'd ideally like to spend or how much others have previously paid for dates that are different than your own.
