paly1
Hi all...I am due back across the 'pond' landing on 04/14 and want to book a hotel for 4 nights before i secure my rental...The prices seem to be high at the moment in Boston and that weekend it is Easter (will that be in my favour or not!?).Is around $50 likely to be accepted for 4* anywhere around downtown/copley/airport?Any advice much appreciated...Hotwire is way overpriced on those dates..:) Link to comment
thenewbie
Well I think you may have answered your own question. Rates are high, some hotels are sold out, and whatever opaque prices available are in your opinion 'overpriced'. You can give the following a try, as a couple of rack rates are below $180. If you don't understand how to find the rebid areas, ask for help before bidding.Select 4* Logan/Revere...Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $55, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* Logan/Revere and re-bid zone2...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $65.Select 4* Downtown...Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $55, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* Downtown and re-bid zone2...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $65.Select 4* Copley...Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $55, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* Copley and re-bid zone2...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $65. eldimo
FYI, I have tried bidding in Cambridge for up to 99$ with no success...Furthermore, just for my information I have checked the Holiday Inn and they have sold out their rooms for saturday night.good luck! Link to comment
paly1
Thanks newbie for the advice...I did all of the above except my last bid...Big 66$ instead of $65 and decided it was my last bid - 4* and all zones - copley - airport - downtown and the 2 free zones and success!Got Hilton - Airport - would have preferred a downtown/copley but hey a great price for those dates! - I was thinking of going for a 1 night stay and then change plans to go outta town for the weekend but this is great for us...We also arrive on a late flight so i am sure the nearby hotel will be bliss:)oh btw - used the savingsbarn link!paly:)For others info - $66 - 4* 4 nights 04/14 - 04/18 logan - got hilton Link to comment
