BKKGooner Posted March 21, 2006 Report Posted March 21, 2006 Hi,First time poster here. Very informative site - great stuff. Can anyone help with advice about whether to book now (3/20) or wait until closer to my check in date (3/31) in Vegas? Do the deals generally get better as we get closer to the date if there are no big conventions? I have been watching the Hotel Checker and Travel Advisor for a few weeks now and prices have flucuated little. Very constant. The bottom line is the I would like to stay on the South Strip in a hotel around $80-$100, including tax. The hotwire price below for this 3 star hotel in the South Strip is $105 for 3/31-4/3. Not sure if tax is included or not. I am guessing this is the Tropicana. What do you think? Do you think I could do better for the price at another place? Or possibly get the Tropicana down lower by either waiting or going to Priceline and bidding lower? thereuare Posted March 21, 2006 Report Posted March 21, 2006 Welcome to BetterBidding! This is a match for the Excalibur so i think that would be a better guess (and a better time :) ) than the Tropicana.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. BKKGooner Posted March 27, 2006 Author Report Posted March 27, 2006 Thanks for the help! I decided to wait and see if the rates dropped some, and...ugh. They went up!I wonder if Priceline will be a better bargain, or just bite the bullet and do Hotwire?115 per night (3 night average; new price) doesn't seem to be such a great deal, really, for Excalibur. Do you agree?
thereuare Posted March 27, 2006 Report Posted March 27, 2006 Not sure why you waited... if you thought the above was the Tropicana i would have thought finding out it was the Excalibur would be a windfall. What are your alternatives at this point? Would you consider SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
