Aggie0815 Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 Hi y'all, I would like to ask for some help with the following situation:I'll be staying in Boston from 4/27 to 4/30 and would like to stay a 3* or 4* hotel in the downtown area. Copley or World Trade Center are ok, too - as long as it's walking distance from downtown. I would like to spend less than $85/night (excl. tax)After reading through some of the threads here I tried the following over the past week: Starting at $51 and increasing in steps of $3-$5 up to $85 using the various re-bid zones and timeouts everything came back rejected.Any ideas how to be successful? Or am I just too early? Thanks a lot
thenewbie Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 Welcome! The WTC area isn't really a 'tourist' area and it isn't won frequently (if at all). If you don't want to increase your bid, you may have success under $100 in the 4* Airport/Revere area as well as in Cambridge. The T (subway) covers the city, so transportation from these two areas shouldn't be a problem. If you'd like additional assistance, let us know.
Aggie0815 Posted March 30, 2006 Author Report Posted March 30, 2006 Finally succeeded tonight, got Hilton Boston Logan for $65/night 4/27-4/30.Aggie
thenewbie Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 Was this your first bid, or did you bid up to $65?
Aggie0815 Posted March 31, 2006 Author Report Posted March 31, 2006 I bid up to it:Started with Logan $55, rejected, then added Medford $57, rejected but offered to bid again if I increase price by $17,restarted with Logan & South Boston $61, rejectedthen all three $65 and it was accepted.I tried Downtown for the same prices before I went to Logan, no luck...Aggie
