CICI2412
Hello all 🙂 I clicked through to this hotel when it was at 119 usd, and it quickly changed to 129 usd. I was 99% sure when it was at 119 usd, that it would be the 'Goodtime Hotel' in Miami. Now the price has increased on the same link I really don't know, and BetterBidding bots don't seem to know anymore either. Has anyone had experience of a quick rate increase? Does it mean a different hotel? Can anyone help? I specifically want to stay at the Goodtime! Dates: 20th December-22nd December 2024 [It's a birthday trip and I'm coming from London] 💗 Amenities showing: Free wifi, Pet Friendly, Near Beach, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurants, Business Centre, Self-Service Laundry Thank you all so much in advance! thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! I'd agree with your guess of the Goodtime Miami Beach, but i'll point out that two things give me pause about this offer: 1) 20% recommended by previous HOTWIRE guests 2) previous guests give this a 1 out of 5 for location Why is this the specific hotel that you want and what are you looking for a hotel for this trip? (or is this offer simply the best that appears to be within your budget, if so, what is your maximum budget for this stay?) Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. CICI2412
Hello, Really appreciate your reply ☺️ thank you. I was confused by what was meant by 20% recommended if I’m honest.. I know this is a location I like so happy with that south beach location, I’d also be open to midtown/design district. I work in design so Goodtime appeals from that perspective, it was also a super appealing price! I’m trying to get my head around all of these US taxes, but I’m budgeting approx 400 usd inc taxes for the 2 night stay. I will remember to purchase through the links for sure. Please let me know if there are any better options.. Thanks again! Link to comment
thereuare
It's been a long time since i've been to South Beach... but I am heading to London next month!🙂 Quote I’m trying to get my head around all of these US taxes It's just like VAT, but instead of showing an all-in rate from the start we only show the room rate and then then total all-in rate at check-out (there are some US laws trying to change this so that the all-in rate is shown at the onset). Quote I was confused by what was meant by 20% recommended if I’m honest.. It's a fairly low bar (which is why the low 20% number gave me pause)... After a stay HOTWIRE asks users to review 5 criteria about the hotel (service, cleanliness, etc) on a 1-5 scale. If the average is > 3.0 then it's 'recommended' (at least this is how it used to be done, not sure if they have changed the calculation at all, but you can see the vast majority of hotels are 70%+). SoBe has a lot of independent properties which vary greatly in quality, but many are not that well kept. At least for this property (on my search) it guarantees one of these brands: Tribute Portfolio (to which Goodtime is a participant), Omni, InterContinental, Sheraton.... so at least there is some comfort that you're not going to land some small independent property with little or no standards or business hierarchy in place to handle any issues that may arise. Keep us update on your progress and let us know what you decide, how it goes, or how we can be of further help.
