zbenye Posted March 15, 2006 Report Posted March 15, 2006 Check-In Date: Thursday, March 16, 2006 Check-Out Date: Sunday, March 19, 2006 Hotel Name: Courtyard San Francisco Airport Oyster Point Waterfront1300 Veterans Blvd San Francisco, California 94080 Your Offer Price: $50.00Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 3 Subtotal: $150.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $30.03 Total Charges: $180.03$49 rejected for 2* in: USE, FW, CC, CH, SSF$38 rejected for 2* in SFOWhen you can't get a 2* in SFO for $38 you know that it's a busy time here. When you can't get a 2* in SSF for $49, at a time when Expedia has this Courtyard for just $99, you know that too many people are now using Priceline so their rates are creeping up.I almost took a Hotwire offer for 2.5* for $56. The amenities suggested that it would be the Larkspur Landing or the Homewood Suites. But then on the next page they showed the retail price of the hotel (is that a new thing?), to show me how much I'll be saving: $71.10. A quick check on Expedia identified the Comfort Suites. How Hotwire have the gall to still rate this disgusting dump a 2.5* is beyond me. I'm sure they're getting complaints right and left. A few months ago Priceline downgraded it to 1*...!
thereuare Posted March 15, 2006 Report Posted March 15, 2006 Yeah, the "retail price" thing is fairly new... but at times can be flat out wrong and way off base :)Thanks for the post. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
zbenye Posted March 16, 2006 Author Report Posted March 16, 2006 I checked again on Hotwire and I think I was wrong coming to the conclusion that it was the Comfort Suites. The customer review reads:"The hotel provided us with a very clean, new, well appointed suite that came with a complete kitchen, marble counters, and large bathroom. We enjoyed the good, fresh breakfast in the morning. The hotel is located near a bay area with a great walking trail."Comfort Suites does not have complete kitchens or marble counters. Also, the amenities shown include a pool and a gym. Comfort Suites has neither. This must be either the Larkspur Landing or the Homewood Suites. But then why aren't there "Suite" and "Kitchenette" icons?
