steve007007007007
Need assistance in bidding for a 5 night stay in St. Thomas ... from what I have been seeing, resort properties are narrowed down to 2 ... Marriot Frenchmans Reef and the Renaissance. Anyone been to either??? Would apprciate any thoughts on either, as well as bidding recommendations. Should I split the bid to a 2 night then a 3 night stay? We are open to two different resort properties. Additionally, it helps that I am able to get either for $99. As I know, therefore, where to end my bid, just wondering where to start! Thanks to all! Link to comment
thereuare
Is the $99 rate what you hope to get it for or is that a readily available rate thru a traditional channel? If readily available, which property is that for and where did you see that rate? thereuare
The rates for the Renaissance are constant throughout your stay ($209/nite), so from that aspect there would be no need to split your bid (usually only necessary to split your bid if there is a rate change during your stay). On the other hand, the Marriott has a significant rate jump on the nites of the 6th and the 7th.I would do the following:Bid Resort $75 for the entire stay (11/4 - 11/9), if that is rejected you can immediately bid again by changing your dates. I would then try the same $75 bid for 11/4 - 11/6 (elimiating the higher rate dates of the Marriott). If this bid is successful, you can then book the other nites thru your other source at $99/nite.Bidding less than $75 i don't think would be successful, and any more than that i don't think represents significant savings when including Priceline's fee.Feel free to ask any questions you may have regarding the above.
