ADL112 Posted July 11, 2019 Report Posted July 11, 2019 Hi - looking for a hotel around Central Park South / UWS 4 ppl (2 adults 2 children) How realistic is $150 a night?
thereuare Posted July 11, 2019 Report Posted July 11, 2019 Welcome to BetterBidding! As soon as i saw your dates in the title i said to myself, 'these are going to be expensive dates'... unfortunately $150 is not likely going to be realistic, and that is without even factoring in you need quad occupancy (which often further raises prices in NYC). I knew these dates would be pricey as historically/seasonally the first 2 weeks of December are some of the most expensive of the year with tourists coming to see the holiday displays and to do last-minute holiday shopping. So a few questions to get started and dig a little deeper: -are your dates flexible at all? rates typically drop substantially mid-Dec, so if you could delay your trip by 2 weeks (possibly 1 week, although not sure how much 1 week will help, i'd have to investigate further) prices will be quite a bit less -how familiar are you with NYC, as UWS/CPS are not the most common areas for a typical tourist in the city, do you have a specific reason to stay in one of these two areas, are you open to other areas that would be more centrally located -what is the minimum star rating you're willing to accept -how old are your kids Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. ADL112 Posted July 11, 2019 Author Report Posted July 11, 2019 Hi, Thanks for the quick reply. Thoughts were to stay near the park / near AMNH. Kids are 5 and 7. Unfortunately no flexibility in days but definitely in the area we stay in if this helps with price. With star rating - would prefer 4+ but if there was reasonable accuracy with the hotel so we can assess 3 we may need to be realistic and go for a 3 star property. Cheers, Peter
thereuare Posted July 12, 2019 Report Posted July 12, 2019 It's likely going to be too cold to want to spend a lot of time in the park, but that's not that important at the moment since you're more likely going to be constrained by budget... Currently the lowest priced offers within Manhattan for 2adults/2children: 3* HOTWIRE SoHo - Tribeca for $237.00 Free Internet Boutique Smoke Free Fitness ==> The Solita Soho 4* HOTWIRE World Trade Center - Wall Street for $243.00 Free Internet Smoke Free Fitness Restaurant Business Wheelchair Accessible ==> Doubletree NYC Financial District 3.5* HOTWIRE Upper West Side for $264.00 Free Internet Smoke Free Fitness Restaurant Business Wheelchair Accessible ==> Excelsior Hotel Are any of the above of interest at these prices?
