Hotwire Hotel: NYC hotel 6/22/19-6/23/19

We are planning to spend one night in NYC on 6/22/19. We have tickets to an off broadway show. When searching hotels online, some are sold out. I've been looking on HOTWIRE for a good deal. Wondering if we should book asap, or should we wait and book last minute? Since some hotels are sold out, I wonder if that's a really busy weekend and will prices go up as we get closer. Thanks for any tips.

Please follow-up your previous Hotwire NYC Hotel thread (March 2018) with whatever you ended up doing for that trip.  Please remember to follow-up your threads with your wins/decisions as you make them (even if you don't ultimately use PRICELINE / HOTWIRE, cancel the trip, book direct, etc) as this help keep the board better organized and more useful for everyone... as well as being a courtesy to anyone who took the time to help with your travel plans.

 

For the trip above, i'm not seeing extraordinarily high rates and some hotel seem fairly reasonable, for example this one caught my eye:

==> Intercontinental New York Barclay would be my best guess for this one... not exactly in the heart of the Theatre District, but certainly a nice deal for this nite, imo

 

Would this work for your needs this trip?  If not, is there something specific that you're looking for in a hotel for this nite?

Sorry, I just updated the previous trip. For the current trip, the one you mentioned in midtown east might work.   I'll check it out.

The InterContinental was recently renovated (~2 years ago) and has generally received great review ever since.  Not sure where your off-Broadway play is located, but if in/near the theatre district, this hotel is a short 3-4 block walk to the E train which would then take you along Eighth Ave.
