svik Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 I will travelling to LA between March 30 to Apr 2. After lots of searching, I reservered the Beverly Hills Plaza for 3 nights (March 30 to Apr 2) at $99 per night in LA. I then encountered your site where I saw that the Hyatt cost about 100-110 and it seems to be a better hotel. Please advise if the Beverly Hills Plaza is a good choice or I may be able to find a better hotel for that price?
thereuare Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 Welcome to BetterBidding! You may or may not get the Hyatt for your stay... you can't choose your exact hotel with the opaque services, only a minimum star rating you're willing to accept and pre-defined boundaries. If you're not familiar with the opaque services i'd start by reading I'VE NEVER USED PRICELINE or HOTWIRE.If you have any questions regarding the above feel free to ask. If you're willing/able to set the conditions set forth by priceline let us know your maximum bid and minimum star rating and we'll suggest a strategy to follow. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
svik Posted March 9, 2006 Author Report Posted March 9, 2006 Thanks for your prompt response. I will check out the opaque services and let you know in case i run into any kinda questions. This has been very helpful. Thanks again. Can you please help me figure out a stratergy for a 4 * room like the Hyatt in the Universal/Hollywood area for about 100 to 110 for 2 days of the stay (30th and 31st March). The third day (Apr 1), I will be making a visit to San Diego and after my return would need a room just to sleep (maybe I'll get a 2 or 3 *) .. I will be flying out of Long Beach Airport early morning on Apr 2. Can you please help figure a stratergy? Thanks for your help again
thereuare Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 Just want to make sure we're clear... you are comfortable with any 4* hotel in the zone, as you're not bidding for the Hyatt specficially, but rather a 4* hotel in the zone.As well, which zone(s) is it that you want to bid (Hollywood/Universal is not a priceline zone). Are you looking at Hollywood or perhaps 'Beverly Hills-West Hollywood'. Or are you looking at Hotwire zones... i'm not really sure? svik Posted March 9, 2006 Author Report Posted March 9, 2006 First of all Thanks for your patience. Yes, I do understand that I am not specifically bidding for the HYATT. I am looking at the priceline website and want to bid on Hollywood and Beverly Hills for a 4 star.
thereuare Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 When bidding 4* in Los Angeles you have four re-bid zones available. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Beverly Hills-West Hollywood...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes.
