Priceline Hotel: Need NYC Advice for 9/26

Staying one night in NYC this Wednesday 9/26.  We'd like to stay in 3.5 star hotel or higher for $250 a night near Times Square.  What's the best deal around - any help would be greatly appreciated!

Just to clarify - I'm willing to spend $350 out the door.  I realize that bidding $250 will add about $100 more in taxes, fees, etc.

Unfortunately, something appears to be going on this night as rates are unusually high.  The only thing that I'm seeing is unfortunately somewhat over budget:

You could also try bidding although I think the cost is still going to likely be a bit above budget even if successful and the concern becomes given how busy this night appears to be that options might go away and/or rates head higher in the meantime.

 

While over budget, would there be any interest in this possibility?

FYI, the UN is in session this week and i suspect the reason for the unusually high rates you're seeing for this nite.

Thanks for the heads-up about the UN.  Based on that info, I'm just going to stay an extra day on the Jersey shore and take the train in and out of Manhattan.
