thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! What is your maximum bid? We wouldn't want to suggest a strategy that went higher than you wanted to bid. LondonHutch
$100 per night.Does this sound a realistic maximum bid for those dates? Link to comment
thereuare
At the 4* level in San Francisco you have three re-bid zones available. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Rates are higher than usual for the above dates, with at least two hotels i looked at soldout, but i would begin with the following:Select 4* USE...Bid $68, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* USW...Bid $68, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* USE and USW...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes. LondonHutch
Thanks for the help and I can use this stategy again in future, but all were rejected.Any other strategies? Link to comment
thereuare
You stated that $100 is your maximum bid, so unless you want to change something:zonemaximum bidstar ratingSPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BIDThere is not much else you can do other than wait it out and hope inventory becomes available. You should probably book a cancellable back-up in the meantime... there are 'hotel-direct' links in our SUPPORT PAGE. spiffycalgal
I need a hotel room in USE or USW on 10/21/2006. I'm running in the Nike marathon that starts in Union Square and ends at Golden Gate Park. I assume it's a busy weekend since thousands of people are expected to participate in this race. I don't want to pay more than $125 for a 4*.I followed this bid strategy and did the following:Select 4* USE...Bid $68, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.I closed my browser, reopened it, and went back to Priceline. I started bidding with 4* at USW, but was told that my bid could not be processed because I had already placed a request for the same trip and need to wait 24 hours. What did I do wrong?
