prauser Posted September 18, 2018 Report Posted September 18, 2018 I apologize if this has been covered before, but is there a correlation between the estimated resort fees and the hotel when using express deals? For example Northeast Vegas, Oct 26-28, 5 star, some 5 star say $39 for resort fee (which is the same as Wynn and Encore) while others are 5 star but $45 resort fee (which is the same as Venetian and Palazzo). Does that actually correlate?
thereuare Posted September 18, 2018 Report Posted September 18, 2018 Welcome to BetterBidding! The resort fee shown by PRICELINE EXPRESS (and HOTWIRE) is not always up-to-date and sometimes it is shown before taxes and sometimes after taxes, therefore it is not a good primary indicator in researching/determining hotels. It can be useful when you have narrowed the list down to 2 hotels and one of the two hotels has a resort fee while the other does not, or if one hotel has a resort fee of $10 and the other a resort fee of $35... but the difference between $39 and $45 is just too close that the difference could be due to taxes included/excluded or simply that the resort fee has not yet been updated since the last price increase. We have plenty of tools and proprietary methods in researching hotels, is there a specific offer that you're interested in and/or a specific hotel that you're trying to target? What is your maximum budget for this trip? prauser Posted September 18, 2018 Author Report Posted September 18, 2018 Thanks -- I'm trying to get the Venetian or Palazzo and avoid the Wynn/Encore (all exceptional hotels, but friends at one). prauser Posted September 18, 2018 Author Report Posted September 18, 2018 No real budget -- I'm okay with the rate for Venetian ($331) and Palazzo ($343), but figured I'm in Vegas so why not gamble on it.
