maxxering Posted September 12, 2018 Report Posted September 12, 2018 Hi, I am looking to book a hotel in San Fransisco. (1 room 4 guests) -Star rating: 3-5 -Zone: Financial District - Embarcadero, Fisherman's Wharf. -Travel Dates: 23 October - 25 October 2018 -Room rate per nite: 120 -Amenities associated with the hotel (if applicable): Car Parking (if any)
thereuare Posted September 12, 2018 Report Posted September 12, 2018 Welcome to BetterBidding! Unfortunately, at current rates you're expected budget is not in the right ballpark for these dates. Start by searching with our BiddingHelper.com tool and include 4 adults in the search. Go to the Hotwire EASY VIEW tab and on the left side select '3* and higher' (if you hover over the 3 stars you will see a link for 'and higher' which will automatically uncheck everything lower than 3 stars and select everything 3* and higher)... then uncheck all zones except for Financial District and Fisherman's Wharf; you will see that prices are substantially higher than $120/nite. What is the best deal you have been able to find thru conventional booking channels for 4 adults in one room? What will you do if you can't find anything at $120 or less... will you cancel the trip, change the dates, increase your budget, lower the star rating, consider other zones, etc? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. maxxering Posted September 12, 2018 Author Report Posted September 12, 2018 Is there another way to find a cheaper price? If I use Priceline, can I choose 4 adults / 1 room? Is bidding at Priceline cheaper than Hotwire? Thank you :)
thereuare Posted September 12, 2018 Report Posted September 12, 2018 Bidding on PRICELINE can be cheaper than HOTWIRE and/or PRICELINE EXPRESS, but: 1) with regular rates for 3+ star hotels in these zones starting at about $450+ per nite a successful bid will still not be near your $120/nite expectation. Although Bidding For Hotel Rooms is typically slightly less than PRICELINE EXPRESS, it's not significantly so. 2) you can't designate quad occupancy when bidding on PRICELINE. You can sometimes 'work around' this occupancy issue with PRICELINE EXPRESS if a hotel is shown with a Bed Choice and one of those choices is a room that is designed to accommodate the number of guests in your group. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
