Mija Posted July 28, 2018 Report Posted July 28, 2018 Hi, if i bid for a 5 stars hotel in West Hollywood / Century City will i get a 5 stars or 4,5 stars? Couldn’t find any winning bid on 5 stars hotel in the area, any idea what are the possible ones? Thanks!
thereuare Posted July 28, 2018 Report Posted July 28, 2018 Welcome to BetterBidding! If you bid on a 5* hotel you will receive a 5 star hotel (as defined by PRICELINE). However, which zones exactly (by PRICELINE name) are you looking to bid on, as there is no zone named 'West Hollywood / Century City'. There are: Beverly Hills - Century City and West Hollywood ==> where you looking to bid on both of these zones, just one of these zones, or something different? You can easy get to the priceline bidding page and see the zones that are available for bidding us this page that we have set-up: BiddingForHotelRooms.com What are the dates of your stay and expected budget? (per nite before fees/taxes) Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

thereuare Posted July 29, 2018 Report Posted July 29, 2018 The problem that you're going to face is that New Year's Eve is a peak nite for more hotels. Given that they can sell most of their rooms on their own there is little reason for them to heavily discount this nite... or they may not offer any inventory to the 'opaque' suppliers for this nite. If PRICELINE / HOTWIRE don't have inventory for one nite of your stay then that hotel becomes ineligible for you to win. Using our BiddingHelper.com this is the only 5* hotel i'm seeing offered in either of these two zones for your dates: 5* West Hollywood (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $419/nite with: Pets Allowed Fitness Center Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool ==> best guess for this one would be The London West Hollywood at Beverly Hills NOTE: i recognize this is more than double your expected budget but it's an example of how based upon current prices a 5* for under $200/nite is probably not realistic for these dates If you're willing to lower to a 4.5* property this one is within your range (when taking into account the board's Priceline Coupon for an extra 5% off): 4.5* West Hollywood (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $211/nite with: Fitness Center Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Indoor or Outdoor Pool ==> The Sunset Marquis hotel would be my best guess here Would the 4.5* Hollywood property work for your needs? (assuming you're not willing to pay-up for the 5 star) Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed, or how it goes if you take either of the ones above, and we'll take it from there. Mija Posted July 29, 2018 Author Report Posted July 29, 2018 Thanks again! A 4.5* property would be fine too. You are sending me the link for a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal. What if i try “name you own price” for a 5*?

If you would like to go this route let us know your maximum bid price and we will suggest a strategy for you to follow... but given the regular rates for hotels for your dates, and one of your nites being most of the busiest nites of the year for hotels, i think anything near $200/nite has an extremely low chance of being successful. You more likely would need to be in the $350+ area, imo. 17 minutes ago, Mija said: are sending me the link for a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal. It depends what you would like to do at the 4.5* level... if you want to try to target The Sunset Marquis then you can click the link below to make your purchase: 27 minutes ago, thereuare said: 4.5* West Hollywood (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $211/nite with: Fitness Center Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Indoor or Outdoor Pool ==> The Sunset Marquis hotel would be my best guess here ... if instead you're willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the 4.5* level or higher then let us know your maximum bid (if it differs than your maximum bid at the 5* level) and we can suggest a strategy for you to follow here as well. If you're intention is to move forward Bidding For a Hotel Room please also confirm if these are the only two zones you're willing to accept or if there are any others we should include in a bidding strategy as well. Mija Posted July 29, 2018 Author Report Posted July 29, 2018 I think i will try to “name your own price” between 100 and 200 for a *5 and see what happends.. i got nothing to loose i guess. Any idea what hotel may i get if i do succeed in those areas for *4.5 or 5*?
thereuare Posted July 29, 2018 Report Posted July 29, 2018 As priceline is making it more difficult to find the NYOP bidding page here is a link directly to the Name Your Own Price bidding form: BiddingForHotelRooms.com (or you can use the bidding tab of our BiddingHelper.com tool) When bidding 5* in the Los Angeles region you have FIFTEEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. (NOTE: if you're new to the subject or unsure you're strongly encouraged to confirm your re-bid zones with the board before bidding) You can try bidding as follows (you make place all of these bids in the same bidding cycle, no need to wait between bids): Select 5* Beverly Hills - Century City and West Hollywood Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $190, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $195, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $200 If the above is rejected and you then want to try bidding at the 4.5* level you have FOURTEEN re-bid zones and can proceed as follows: Select 4.5* Beverly Hills - Century City and West Hollywood Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $190, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $195, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $200 Any questions feel free to ask (especially confirming your re-bid zones if you're unsure) Good luck and let us know how it goes. Mija Posted July 29, 2018 Author Report Posted July 29, 2018 Thanks i will try in a few days! is it possible to know what hotels 4.5* or 5* might be under name your own price in this areas?
thereuare Posted July 29, 2018 Report Posted July 29, 2018 As noted above, there is no way to know which hotel(s) you may receive when bidding on PRICELINE and you need to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) that you bid (vs. PRICELINE EXPRESS where a little information is known about the hotel and you can take an educated guess as to which one it might be) With the above noted you can: 1) see what hotels have previously been reported to the board in each zone and star rating in our Priceline Hotel List 2) in the Express Deals tab of our BiddingHelper.com tool click the IS THIS A GOOD PRICE?? button to see hotels in the zone of that star rating 3) search MAPS and HOTELS.com and in the PRICELINE tab filter to only show 4.5* and 5* hotels... then look at the area covered by each zone to see which hotels are in the shaded boundaries of the zone Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Good luck and let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
