JanVS Posted July 27, 2018 Report Posted July 27, 2018 Hi All, We want to book a hotel in San Francisco for 3 nights (Oct 1st till Oct 4th). 3* or up in one of the popular areas (Fishermanswharf, Japantown, Civic center north, Union square west & east). Could somebody advise on this? Buy the way, I was looking for the NYOP option on Priceline but can not find it anymore? Looking for a good bang for a buck 😉 max $150 per night. No special amenities required but a good breakfast would be nice 🙂 With best regards Jan
thereuare Posted July 27, 2018 Report Posted July 27, 2018 Please start by following-up your previous Salt Lake City Priceline hotel thread with whatever you ultimately decided to do for that trip, then reply here and we will have a closer look at your trip above. Please remember to follow-up your threads with your wins/decisions as you make them (even if you don't ultimately use PRICELINE / HOTWIRE, cancel the trip, book direct, etc) as this help keep the board better organized and more useful for everyone... as well as being a courtesy to anyone who took the time to help with your travel plans., the 32 minutes ago, JanVS said: I was looking for the NYOP option on Priceline but can not find it anymore? They keep moving and hiding it, so we have put together this page for each access: BiddingForHotelRooms.com Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. JanVS Posted July 30, 2018 Author Report Posted July 30, 2018 Thanks for the reply, I just updated the other thread. Was going to close it but it seems I can some euro's 🙂
JanVS Posted July 31, 2018 Author Report Posted July 31, 2018 Ok, closed out the Salt Lake City thread. Could you help me with the question on San Francisco? Thanks
thereuare Posted July 31, 2018 Report Posted July 31, 2018 What is the objective to bid on PRICELINE for the least expensive 3* or better hotel in any of the following zones: Fishermans Wharf Japantown -Civic center north Union square west Union Square East ...and your maximum bid is $150/nite? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. JanVS Posted July 31, 2018 Author Report Posted July 31, 2018 Thanks for answering once more thereuare. Yes, I would try to bid although the maximum bid might be quite high looking at the rates that were achieved in the past. What is your opinion?
thereuare Posted July 31, 2018 Report Posted July 31, 2018 Rates for your specific dates are higher than usual and i think it will take close to $150 (if not even a few dollars more) for a 3* or better in one of the zones above. Please confirm if you're willing to bid up to $150/nite at this point in time and if you're ready to bid now. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. NOTE: when you use Bidding For Hotel Rooms to place your bid, after you do the initial search for your location and dates you can use the drop down menu on the top right corner of the bidding page to change the currency to whatever currency you would Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
JanVS Posted August 1, 2018 Author Report Posted August 1, 2018 Alright, I'm back 🙂 Just a consideration: would it be better to wait a bit longer to see if prices come down, or is it expected that prices stay firm for these dates? In any case, I'm ready to rumble
thereuare Posted August 1, 2018 Report Posted August 1, 2018 There is no way to know if rates will come down, stay the same, or move even higher. (which if i remember rates from researching your dates the other day, i believe rates have gone up in the last 24 hours... and even $150 may be difficult at this point), but to give it a try... When bidding 3* in the San Francisco region you have TWO re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. JanVS Posted August 1, 2018 Author Report Posted August 1, 2018 Just to confirm: the rebid zones are Pacifica and Richmond?
JanVS Posted August 1, 2018 Author Report Posted August 1, 2018 Just tried all the combinations and prices listed above but with no luck! I will have a look tomorrow for other deals/stars. Damn they want my money badly! 😉 Thanks for the help so far!
thereuare Posted August 2, 2018 Report Posted August 2, 2018 10 hours ago, JanVS said: Damn they want my money badly! Quite the opposite since they didn't accept your bid. Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option as i'm seeing: 10/1-10/3 3.5* Japan Town - Civic Center North (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $153/nite with: Airport Shuttle Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Free Internet ==> Hotel Epik is my best guess for this one 10/3-10/4 3.5* Japan Town - Civic Center North (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $170/nite with: Airport Shuttle Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Free Internet ==> this too looks to be the Hotel Epik This offer does not show when searching for 10/1-10/4, so there is a chance that when you go to purchase one of the segments above that you may get a message that the offer is no longer available, so although you see what appears to be the same property for each subset of your full date range, keep in mind that there is a chance one of the date ranges may not succeed when you attempt to the complete the purchase (and if it's the nites of 10/3-10/4 you will have already purchased the previous 2 nites and therefore will need to change hotels once you find a suitable replacement for the 10/3-10/4 nites). Hope the above makes sense but feel free to ask any questions you may have. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how you'd like to proceed (or how it goes if you try to take the two offers above) and we'll take it from there.
